Summary: | A comedy about a firemen's ball where everything goes wrong. Thought to be a commentary on floundering Czech leadership, it was banned in Czechoslovakia, and prompted director Milos Forman to come to America. The fire department of a small town throws a birthday party for their former chief--the entire town shows up, but the party does not go as planned, with comically catastrophic results. This edition features the following supplements: video interview with director Milos Forman; a behind-the-scenes look at the transfer process, featuring cinematographer Miroslav Ondricek and comments from Milos Forman. |
