Summary: | When a young hitchhiker joins a couple on a weekend yacht trip, psychological warfare ensues as both men compete for the woman's attention. This is Roman Polanski's first film. The second disc contains 8 early short films by Roman Polanski. Powerfully explores the intrinsically competitive nature of men--especially in the presence of an attractive woman. An upper-middle-class couple picks up a college student hitchhiker and take him sailing on their small yacht. The experienced older man lords it over his callow guest in ways both subtle and obvious as they continually duel for dominance. |
