Working with a miniscule budget, -Allen Baron directed, wrote, and stars in this hard-bitten film noir of a hired killer who wants out of his latest job. Propelled by voiceover narration right out of a pulp novel, Blast tracks a lonely man tempted by redemption but resigned to his fate. Gritty cinematography and guerrilla-style filmmaking highlight a bleak Big Apple setting for this rediscovered minor classic. For most collections. (c) Copyright 2010.
