Summary:The Kuna file consists of twenty-seven documents, ranging in time coverage from the mid-nineteenth to the late twentieth centuries. Although based on field work in 1927, the six Nordenskiöld documents in this file provide excellent ethnographic coverage on the traditional San Blas Kuna. The remaining documents in the file cover religion, medicine and curing practices, language and speech, Kuna music, socio-cultural change, tales and myths, acculturation, the 1925 revolt, the Kuna political system, the commercialization of women's clothing (the MOLA), albinism and genetics.
