Levine, Rodrigues, and Zelezny (all, California State Univ., Fresno) have compiled an exhaustive collection of essays from eminent scholars in social psychology. The collection as a whole offers a unique perspective on what it takes to be a successful social psychologist, from the perspective of those who have been deemed successful. Social psychologists--both students and their mentors--will find herein a fascinating analysis of paths and possibilities available in the realm of social psychology. For example, readers will be instructed by these researchers' discussions of how their research agendas developed and what perspectives they, as individuals, brought to their research. The discerning reader will also take away from these personal histories insights about the limitations of social psychology. Summing Up: Recommended. Upper-division undergraduates and graduate students interested in the social psychology as a profession. M. Bonner Peru State College
