Local Note:University of Chicago Library's copy 3: "A line-for-line reprint of the first edition, so close at times as to be almost indistinguishable... The prelims are obviously reset (two rules above the dedication; the dramatis personae are now divided into Men and Women), but the rest of the text is extremely close to the first edition. Among the identifiable changes are: 'End of the first ACT' (p. 16) becomes 'END of the FIRST ACT' (and at the end of subsequent acts); 'you-' (p. 58, last line) becomes 'you,-'; and '--- this is the triumph' (p. 87, line 4) becomes '-- This is the triumph'. If the play really did sell ten thousand copies, it is hardly surprising that resetting was needed, and naturally it would have been affordable with such a sale. The fine frontispiece and title vignettes are by the notable illustrator Isaac Taylor the elder (1730-1807)."--Dealer's description.
