This collection of hilarious outtakes from courtroom situations runs the gamut from preliminary pleadings before a judge through juror selection and sentencing. The compilers, a trio of California lawyers who obviously don't mind confirming the negative judgments of those outside the legal profession about what goes on inside the courtroom, have taken their material directly from court transcripts. While there are no great insights into the judicial system to be found here, there is no doubt that the collected bungling of those involved in trial law proves genuinely funny. The humor derives from laypersons prisoners, witnesses, jurors who produce a wealth of banalities and faux pas, or from lawyers and judges, whose pomposity and long-windedness beg to be deflated. The text is accompanied by cartoon illustrations. DPD. 340.02 Courts Anecdotes, facetiae, satire, etc.
