The Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn arrived in July 2004 and completed its primary mission in June 2008. In Saturn from Cassini-Huygens, editors Dougherty (Imperial College,UK), Esposito (Univ. of Colorado), and Krimigis (Johns Hopkins) present a comprehensive volume that summarizes for Saturn, its ring system, and most of its moons the data obtained and the analysis done to date from this four-year mission. Readers interested specifically in the results on moon Titan will need to refer to the companion volume, Titan from Cassini-Huygens, ed. by R. H. Brown, J-P Lebreton, and J. H. Waite (CH, Jun'10, 47-5619). The many contributing authors were careful to put the Cassini-Huygens results into the proper scientific context by reviewing previous scientific knowledge and ongoing ground- and space-based observations of the Saturnian system. From chapter to chapter, results vary. In some areas, the analysis has been completed and results are presented as solid conclusions, whereas in other areas, much of the data remains to be studied and conclusions are still speculative. This volume provides an advanced student or practicing researcher an excellent overview of the current state of understanding of Saturn, its rings, and many of its moons. Summing Up: Highly recommended. Upper-division undergraduates and above. C. Palma Pennsylvania State University
