Summary:For over twenty years, Professor Héctor Uribe investigated the pieces that were manufactured between 1930 and 1952, meticulously painted by hand. The publication, won the 2010 Fondo de Fomento al Libro y la Lectura, closed a lengthy investigation that began in 1988. The glazed pottery factory operated in conjunction with mining. "The mine owners had business side and one of those was that of the ceramic, which lasted almost one hundred years. From there emerged many figures that are now collectors items and for mining are very important as peoples identity," says the author. Despite its massiveness, these crafts have been little studied from the perspective of equity. Uribe collected about 500 pieces in their research, describing the manufacturing process and working methods of the time.
