Description
Summary:Results of a 1977-80 international project on the coastal plain of Isreal show that the site was a military and trading outpost from 1600 BCE until about 30 C.E. Wine, pottery, and perhaps ironwork were also produced there at times. More than 40 contributors report on artifacts, stratigraphy, geology, plant and animal remains, and the analysis of finds. Over 80 black-and-white photographs. Annotation(c) 2003 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
