Summary:	"The freelance photographer Reinhard Mende documented from 1967 to 1990, on behalf of DDR combines industries and the locally produced products, which were shown at the international trade fair in Leipzig. He recorded workers at the bench, he kept lamps, vacuum cleaners, and kitchen appliances. About 250,000 images - black and white and colour photographs - offer a unique look into the factory and on the people who produced the goods. A look that was headed by official performances and still tried to follow the own perception. The project double economies examines how you can now deal with this unique corpus of images: how to make them accessible, how to gain historical knowledge from them, they can provide a starting point for the reflection. In addition to a number of essays, the book gathers artistic contributions and others by Armin Linke, Olaf Nicolai, and KP Brehmer.
