This book contains 12 chapters by leading psychologists studying cognitive approaches to stereotyping and prejudice. The chapters are organized into three sections: "Formation of Stereotypes and Prejudice," "Structure and Meaning of Stereotypes and Prejudice," and "Change of Stereotypes and Prejudice." The introduction provides a good historical overview of the study of stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination, leading up to the cognitive approach that has been presented most recently in the psychological literature. Recommended for its breadth and comprehensiveness, this book is an excellent reference source for scholars and researchers. Upper-division and graduate collections.-C. L.
