Summary:This programme looks at three aspects of secondary pastoral care in a large urban school in Bristol. It features the role of a Year 10 form tutor and how she has learnt to read the body language of her students. It also shows how the school uses learning mentors to help improve attendance and give students a sense of belonging. Plus there's an insight into the operation of their peer mentoring scheme, in which Year 10 students are trained to help Year 7 pupils through the transition phase of school life.
