Summary: | Behaviour guru Sue Cowley coaches a KS2 teacher at Whitton Middle School, Worcestershire on how to ignore low-level disruption and make the most of her classroom space to control the lesson. Using cameras and microphones concealed in the classroom, Sue is able to observe and coach teacher Helen Platts with a Year 6 lower ability maths group looking at symmetry. Sue uses camera monitors in a control room to coach Helen using a hidden earpiece. Coaching remotely, without being present in the classroom, provides a unique CPD opportunity by preserving the natural dynamic of the lesson. Sue also provides a commentary on how Helen is managing her class, identifying behavioural and learning issues and offering some solutions. In particular the focus is on supporting Helen with low-level disruption and making the most of her classroom space.
