Summary:The magazine series helping teachers to manage their workload and improve their work-life balance. Visit three schools that have implemented innovative time-saving ideas to make life easier for their staff. By making some minor adjustments to the school day, Langley Junior School in Plymouth have freed up one afternoon a week which is allocated for enrichment time for pupils and PPA time for staff. On Wednesday afternoons qualified professionals come into school to run a whole range of activities for the pupils. In London, Grinling Gibbons Primary School has adjusted its school day dramatically so that staff can miss the morning and evening rush hours. They save travel time and because they finish earlier have time to spare at the end of the day too. At Wintringham High School in Grimsby they have introduced an on-site health clinic which staff can take advantage of during the school day. It offers weight checks, dietary advice, cholesterol testing and counselling.
