Summary:At Ashton on Mersey secondary school in Manchester, PE teacher Caroline Blakey is being coached as part of the school's routine professional development cycle. The coach - Director of Sport Aidan Moloney - is also being coached on his technique by Headteacher Vicky Beer. This programme follows the whole process - from the planning stages, through the lesson observation, to the feedback. We get an appreciation from both the coach and the coachee as to what's involved in the process. We follow Caroline as she seeks the advice of mentor Richard Middlebrook about a new project that she's undertaking within the school. We see Caroline successfully implement the guidance she's received. Both the viewpoint of the mentor and the person being mentored are discussed, as well as the key components required for a successful mentoring session.
