Summary:The Government Accountability Office, under the Comptroller General's authority assessed the extent to which Department of Defense's (DOD) active, reserve, and National Guard components met their enlisted aggregate recruiting and retention goals; assessed the extent to which the components met their authorized personnel levels for enlisted occupational specialties; and analyzed the steps DOD has taken to address recruiting and retention challenges.
