Summary:Cícero Alves dos Santos, o Véio, is an artist that uses wood to represent its unusual look of man and the life in the sertão. Born in the city of Nossa Senhora da Glória in 1947, the artist is nicknamed Véio (Old), as since he was a kid he'd like to stay with the older listening to their conversations. So, Véio is onee of the most prominent names in Brazilian popular art and has participated in important exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. His works are still exhibited in the many galleries devoted to folk art, as well as in many private collections.
