Notes:The Liber miraculorm was written at Clairvaux around 1178 by the monk Herbertus, later archbishop of Torres (now Porto Torres) in Sardinia. It is one of the first collections of Cistercian exempla, preceded only by the Collectaneum Clarevallense. The book is composed of 165 chapters of varying length, containing one or more exempla each, the source of which is mainly oral. This is an important witness for the understanding of life and monastic spirituality of the late twelfth century.
Includes bibliographical references (pages cxii-cxxv) and indexes.
Text in Latin; introduction and notes in Italian.
