Summary:Media executive and consultant Drew Berry was born on December 22, 1955 in Henderson, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with his B.S. degree in radio, television, and film studies in 1978. Berry has decades of experience in the television and news industry, including positions as executive producer at WABC-TV in New York City; news director at WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; assistant news director at WFAA-TV in Dallas Texas; and vice president and general manager at WMAR-TV in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2006, he was appointed as professor of media management at the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communication at Hampton University; and, in 2007, he became founding president and CEO of Drew Berry & Associates, LLC. A member of the National Association of Black Journalists, he served as the organization's interim executive director in 2009, and received the NABJ President's Award in 2009 and 2010.
