Summary:Public relations executive Barbara Heineback was born in New York City on December 19, 1944. Heineback attended Howard University where she earned her B.A. in journalism from the School of Communications. From there, she attended the University of Stockholm in Sweden where she received a certificate of Language Arts in Swedish. Heineback went on to become the first African American woman to serve as a press officer to a United States First Lady, First Lady Rosalynn Carter. She served as Director of Public Relations and Public and Investor Relations for Comsat, Director of Development for Script Memorial Hospital, and Chief of Protocol for the America's Cup. In 1996, she launched Talking Point to manage the marketing and communications of several prominent clients. Heineback also served as a strategic consultant for President Bill Clinton's administration and the NAACP.
