Summary:Mathematician and professor Trachette Jackson was born on July 24, 1972 in Monroe, Louisiana. She attended public high school and spent her summers at a math-science honors program hosted by Arizona State University where she developed her passion for mathematics. In 1994, she received her B.S. degree in mathematics from Arizona State University. Jackson earned her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Washington in 1996 and 1998, respectively. In 2000, Jackson joined the faculty at the University of Michigan as an assistant professor in the mathematics department. In 2008, she was promoted to full professor. Jackson is co-founder and co-director of the Mathematics Biology Research Group at the University of Michigan. Jackson received many awards including the Blackwell Tapia Award and the Arizona State University's Medallion of Merit Award. Jackson published numerous papers on mathematical oncology and served as senior editor for the academic journal, Cancer Research.
