Summary:Professor and administrator Alexandria Holloway was born on April 15, 1947 in Jackson, Mississippi. She received her B.M. degree in music education from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi in 1968. In 1970, she received her M.A. degree in music education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and her Ph.D. degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida in 1984. She began her education career as a music teacher in Champaign, Illinois in 1970. In 1976, Holloway moved to Miami Florida to begin her career at Miami Dade College teaching music. She was appointed associate dean at Wolfson Campus at Miami Dade College in 1986 which was a position she held until 1996. Holloway founded the Honors College at Miami Dade College in 2001 where she was the founding dean. After her retirement in 2011, the Honors College was named after her. In 2011, she founded AH Academic Consulting Group.
