| Summary: | Executive editor and executive director Ronnie Agnew was born in Saltillo, Mississippi in 1963, where he grew up. He received his B.A. degree in English from the University of Mississippi in 1984. Before graduating, Agnew was hired at a newspaper at The Greenwood Commonwealth in Greenwood, Mississippi. Agnew then moved to Ohio, where he worked for the Cincinnati Enquirer. In 1993, he was appointed managing editor of The Hattiesburg American; and promoted to the same role at The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2002, he was promoted to executive editor, the first African American in that position. Agnew became executive director of Mississippi Public Broadcasting in 2011. In 2015, Agnew was elected Professional Vice Chair of the Association of Public Television Stations. Agnew was also a judge for the Pulitzer Prize four times and was awarded the Silver Em by the University of Mississippi Meek School of Journalism.
