Summary:Corporate executive Charles E. Phillips, Jr. was born in June, 1959 in Little Rock, Arkansas, where his father was stationed in the Air Force. He attended the United States Air Force Academy, receiving his B.S. degree in computer science in 1981. Serving as a captain in the United States Marine Corps from 1981 to 1986, he received his M.B.A degree from Hampton University in 1986 and his J.D. degree from the New York Law School in 1993. Phillips worked in executive positions at the Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, SoundView Technology Group and Kidder Peabody until 1994, when he became a principal and managing director for Morgan Stanley. There he was recognized as a top enterprise software industry analyst for ten consecutive years. In 2004, he was named president of Oracle Corporation. In 2010, he was hired as CEO of Infor, the world's largest privately owned software company. Phillips founded Phillips Charitable Organizations.
