Summary: | Military officer Larry R. Jordan was born on February 7, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri. Jordan graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1968 and was commissioned into the U.S. Army as an armor officer. He received his M.A. degree in history from Indiana University at Bloomington in 1975. In 1993, Jordan was assigned as the commanding general of the U.S. Army Armor Center and School. Promoted to lieutenant general in 1996, Jordan was appointed Inspector General of the U.S. Army. In 1999, he deployed as the deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army in Europe and the Seventh Army in Germany. After completing his assignment as deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command in 2003, Jordan served as a senior vice president at Burdeshaw Associates, Ltd., and as a consultant with the Defense Science Board and with the Institute for Defense Analysis.
