Summary:Television correspondent and journalist Roland Sebastian Martin was born November 11, 1968 in Houston, Texas. Roland attended Texas A&M University on an academic scholarship where he studied journalism and worked for the Bryan-College Station Eagle and for KBTV. After graduation in 1991, Martin began working at the Austin-American Statesman. He then became a city hall reporter for Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In 1995, he became a morning drive reporter with KRLD radio as sports reporter. Roland was a nationally syndicated columnist and commentator for TV One Cable Network and host of News One Now. He was the author of three publications, including Speak, Brother! A Black Man's View of America. He was host and managing editor of "Washington Watch with Roland Martin", a one-hour Sunday morning news show. Roland was a CNN Analyst, appearing on a variety of the networks shows. He was part of the Tom Joyner Morning Show as senior analyst.
