Summary: | Veterinarian and radio station owner Glenn W. Cherry was born in Daytona Beach, Florida. Cherry earned his B.S. degree from Morehouse College in 1980; and his D.V.M. degree from Tuskegee University in 1984. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Cherry practiced veterinary medicine. He served briefly in the U. S. Department of Agriculture. In 1989, Cherry, his brother and father purchased WPUL-AM radio station in Daytona Beach, Florida. In 1997, he purchased WCSZ-AM in Greenville, South Carolina; and, WTMP-AM in Tampa, Florida, where he worked as its general manager until 2007. In 2000, Cherry co-founded Tama Broadcasting, Inc. with his brother Charles W. Cherry II (HM) and became its president and chief executive officer. Under Glen Cherry's leadership, Tama Broadcasting purchased additional radio stations in Florida and Georgia. He has also served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Global Health Professionals, Inc., a Florida-based non-profit organization.
