Summary:Mayor and state legislator Willie Logan was born on February 16, 1957 in Northern Miami-Dade County, Florida. He received his A.A. degree from Miami-Dade College in Miami, Florida in 1976 and his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He also received his M.B.A. degree in health care administration from the University of Miami in 1996. Logan was elected as mayor of Opa-locka, Florida in 1980, the same year he founded and became the president and CEO of Opa-locka Community Development Corporation. His term as mayor ended in 1982 when he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives where he was recognized as the most effective Democrat in legislature. In 2000, he left the Florida House of Representatives for an unsuccessful run for the Senate. After leaving the government, Logan continued to serve as president and CEO of the Opa-locka Community Development Corporation.
