Summary:Photojournalist Chi Modu was born in 1969 in Nigeria before moving to Princeton, New Jersey with his family. He graduated from the Lawrenceville School in 1984 and went on to receive his B.S. degree in economics from Rutgers University in 1989. After graduation, Modu decided he wanted to work in photography instead. He was hired at The Source magazine in 1991 as the director of photography. While there, his photography was featured on 34 different covers, and his subjects included Tupac, Biggie, and Snoop Dogg, among others. After leaving The Source in 1997, Modu began a career in digital photography and brand strategy. He founded ephotos in 2012 with the goal of making iconic photographs more accessible to the general population. Modu also published a book of his iconic photos of Tupac in 2016, titled Tupac Shakur: UNCATEGORIZED.
