Summary:Technology entrepreneur David Lloyd Steward, Sr. was born on July 2, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up in Clinton, Missouri, Steward attended colored Lincoln School and integrated Franklin School in 1957. Steward, a Life Scout and basketball all-star, graduated from Clinton Senior High School in 1969. He earned his B.S. degree in business administration in 1974 from Central Missouri University. Steward was an associate executive for the Boy Scouts of America from 1973 to 1975, until he moved into sales with the Missouri Pacific Railroad, selling freight hauling services in Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Houston. In 1990, after serving as a top sales executive for Federal Express, Steward founded his own World Wide Technologies (WWT). WWT has grown to employ over 1,000 employees with over $2 billion in sales. Steward's book, Doing Business By The Good Book was published in 2004. Steward served on numerous boards and committees.
