Summary:"In celebration of Leonard Berstein's centenary, this recording features the composer's complete solo piano works, plus, as a special bonus, the witty and charming Bridal Suite for piano duet. In addition to the more familiar Anniversaries, Sonata for the Piano, and Touches, I have included Bernstein's very first published work, the highly effective transcription of Aaron Copland's orchestral tone poem El Salón México, together with the Four Sabras, Non troppo presto, and Music for the Dance, no. II, not published until 2010. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know this imaginative music, from the early works that hint at a later distinctive style to the mature works full of sweet sentiment and rhythmic vitality"--Container insert.
