Summary: | Photographer Eric Werner was born on August 9, 1944 in Riverside, California. He participated in a community film workshop between 1970 and 1973 and received his A.A. degree in 1977 from Olive-Harvey College. He received his B.A. degree from Governors State University while attending an Ansel Adams advanced photographic workshop in 1979. From 1984, he was a freelance photographer servicing corporate, private and nonprofit clients. His work was displayed in numerous shows and was featured in various public and private collections. Werner's photography was published widely and he was honored with various awards for his work. In 1990, he began volunteering as a photography instructor for the Chicago Park District and founded the Picture This Camera Club to teach students the technical aspects of photography as an art form. He was also appointed to the Jazz Unites Board of Directors and the Chicago Cultural Center Community Grants Board. He passed away May 21, 2011.
