Summary: | Medical doctor Dr. Sampson Davis was born in Newark, New Jersey, on January 19, 1973. Growing up in the inner city, Davis and two of his friends, Rameck Hunt and George Jenkins, vowed to improve their circumstances. The three studied together and then attended Seton Hall University together, where they graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2002. Davis was hired as the attending emergency room physician at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark and he and his fellow doctors co-founded the Three Doctors Foundation, which brought health, education and mentoring to inner-city youth. They also co-wrote a bestseller, The Pact: Three Young Men Make a Promise and Fulfill a Dream. In addition to practicing medicine, Davis has travelled the country to speak with young people about gangs and alternative opportunities. His story was portrayed on television and discussed in numerous publications.
