Summary: | Entrepreneur Eugene H. Dibble, III was born on July 22, 1929. He received his B.S. degree in chemistry from the Tuskegee Institute in 1952. Dibble served in the United States Air Force and was discharged as a second lieutenant. He attended the New York Institute of Finance and completed the broker's trainee program in 1954. He began working for an investment firm in 1956, becoming one of three African American stockbrokers in a Chicago firm. He began his own investment company the following year to invest money back into the African American community. Dibble also served as chairman of the Metropolitan Sanitary District's Committee on Maintenance and Operation until 1972. He received numerous civic awards including Honorary Sheriff of Maywood and the Danny Davis Congressional Role of Honor. Dibble was married to Jeanette Campbell, and had five children. He passed away on June 6, 2014.
