Summary:Education administrator and corporate executive Erroll Brown Davis, Jr. was born on August 5, 1944, and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1965, and his M.B.A degree in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1967. He then joined the Ford Motor Company as a systems analyst. Davis worked at Wisconsin Power and Light Company. From 1978 to 1990, Davis was promoted into the senior management ranks at WPL, eventually being named CEO and president. Davis also served as a member of the Carnegie Mellon University Board and University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents. From 2006 to 2011, Davis served as chancellor of the University System of Georgia. He served as superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools until 2014. He became a member of the Board of Curators for the Georgia Historical Society.
