Summary: | Singer and pianist Shelley Fisher was born on April 6, 1942, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He studied music at Roosevelt University's Chicago Conservatory of Music, and received his A.A. degree in music education and social science from Chicago's Crane Junior College in 1963. Fisher became the featured vocalist for the Morris Ellis Orchestra in Chicago, and went on to perform with Stevie Wonder. In 1985, Fisher launched Vantown Productions, Inc., a publishing and production company that published Jimmy Randolph's Plainsville, USA, The Valentine Brothers' King Size Bed, and Garland Green's Girl, I Love You. From 1978 through 1999, Fisher worked abroad in Japan, Canada and Europe. In 2000, he moved to Las Vegas, where he also performed. Fisher recorded and performed with Earth, Wind & Fire; The Dells; Eartha Kitt and B.B. King. He also recorded two full-length CDs: Driving Home in 2003, and Stories in 2004.
