Summary:Media entrepreneur William Griffin was born on November 25, 1970 in Austin, Texas. Griffin received his B.A. degree from Dartmouth College and his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School. He began his career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs & Co in New York City. After law school, Griffin began a professional media career in the Entertainment and Media Practice Group of McKinsey & Company. He went on to serve as director of the eDirect initiative at News Corp/Fox Entertainment Group and as general manager and executive vice president of business development for eUniverse Network, implementing a turnaround strategy. Griffin was named president and chief operating officer of Simmons Lathan Media Group. In 2005, in partnership with Russell Simmons and Stan Lathan, he founded Hip Hop On Demand on Comcast and served as its chairman and chief executive officer. Griffin's projects won him numerous awards, including two NAACP Image Awards.
