Summary: | Sales executive Jim Colon was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1953. He received his B.S. degree in business and economics from Manchester College in 1974. Colon joined the Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. salesforce in 1980. Three years later, he became a regional manager for Toyota's large vehicle series, and in 1995, Toyota promoted him to national manager. He then served as assistant general manager of Toyota's Portland, Oregon and Chicago, Illinois regions, before being promoted to vice president and general manager of the Chicago region. In 2005, Colon became vice president of sales and dealer development for the Lexus division, and moved to the Toyota division as vice president of sales in 2008. Toyota promoted Colon to vice president of product communications, and he completed his career as vice president of African American business strategy. In 2016, he retired after thirty-six years with Toyota, and moved to Seattle, Washington to open his own dealership.
