Summary:Real estate developer and professor Philip Hart as born on June 12, 1944, in Denver, Colorado. He graduated in 1966 from Colorado University, and ran Boston's Community University Center for Inner City Change beginning in 1971, before going on to become superintendent of the Federation of Boston Community Schools. In 1974, he joined the faculty at the University of Massachusetts Boston College of public and Community Service, eventually becoming director of the William Monroe Trotter Institute for the Study of Black Culture before he retired in 2002. He was CEO of the American City Coalition from 1999 to 2002, and executive director of the Urban Land Institute beginning in 2006. Hart has published 14 books, and he and his wife, Tanya Hart, produced the 1987 PBS documentary film Flyers in Search of a Dream, on African American aviation history. Hart served as CEO and founder of Hart Realty Advisors.
