Expurgated copy; expurgated in accordance with the "Indicis librorum expurgandorum" of Giovanni Maria Guanzelli (first issued in 1607); the most extensive censorship occurs in chapters 11, "De hominis necessitate & forma," chapter 18, "De mirabilibus," and chapter 19, "De daemonibus"; expurgation includes lines and passages struck through or thorougly crossed out in both ink and pencil, including one illustration (page 530); paper pasted over passages (some removed); bottom of pages 351-352 (leaf X4) and top of pages 535-354 (leaf Y1) cut out and pages 521-526 (leaves 2V1-3) and 531-538 (2X2-4, 2Y1) missing; on page 193 a former owner has supplied text in manuscript where pasted over paper obliterated text when removed (removed paper laid in).
Laid in sheet with manuscript annotation noting leaves portions cut out and missing leaves: X.4.Y, VV.2.3.4, YY.4.
