Summary:	Manuscript of New Netherland Provincial Secretary register from 1642 to 1660, containing court depositions, bonds, deeds, leases, and other legal declarations and agreements which had to be filed with the Secretary. Preceeding the manuscript pages in each volume is a typeset table of contents from the Calendar of Historical Manuscripts detailing the Dutch Manuscripts (volumes 1-3). The manuscripts from volume one (1638-1642), housed in the New York State Archives, were lost in the 1911 fire at the New York State Capitol in Albany. Nevertheless, the calendar from that volume is here included with that of volume 2. The calendar provides information regarding the manuscript text in the two volumes, which were inconsistent in legibility.
