Two states known of this design known: state 1 with head and tail designs woven in cream, gold, and rose; cream border; state 2 with head and tail designs woven in red, blue, green, purple, and yellow; purple and yellow border.

Summary:Woven silk souvenir ribbon of Tennyson's Ode for the opening of the 1862 International Exhibition. Tennyson's Ode on the opening of the Exhibition was written at the request of Francis Richard Sanford, organizing secretary for the Exhibition, and set to music by William Sterndale Bennett to be sung at the opening ceremony.
