Summary:In this volume the proceedings of the 24th Colloqium Oecumenicum Paulinum, which gathered from September 12-17 2016 in the Abbazia di San Paolo fuori le mura to study the first five chapters of Paul's 'Letter to the Romans', are published. In eight essays leading Pauline scholars from Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox tradition discuss all sections of the text of Romans 1,1-5,11 in great detail. Reconstructing Paul's arguments on human sin, God's gift of redemption and justification for those who trust in his power to save them through the death and resurrection of Christ, the scholars present the current state of research on the first part of Paul's Letter to the Romans.
