Summary:In September 2007, the Central African Republic adopted its first Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) prepared using a participatory approach with the support of its development partners. This approach allowed for a consensus among the various stakeholders in the country and the developer partners, making this document a unique reference framework for government action. The PRSP includes both post-conflict recovery imperatives and measures to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The key objectives remain consolidating peace, creating wealth, and broadening access to basic social services.
