Summary:1. With the concurrence of the Central Bank of Aruba (CBA), the mission assessed compliance with the 2006 revised Basel Core Principles for Effective Banking Supervision using the Core Principles Methodology (see Table 3). Compliance with both the essential and additional criteria was assessed at the request of the CBA. The assessment was based on the CBA's self assessment of compliance with the Core Principles, a review of the relevant laws and regulations, interviews with the staff of CBA and discussions with auditors and onshore and offshore banks. The assessors were Socorro Heysen (Consultant) and Gabriella Ferencz, Lead Financial Sector Specialist (World Bank).
