Summary:	This book seeks to problematize the presence or absence of a fundamental actor in the expulsive processes of migration and exile: the role of political power, the State and its institutions. Due to both the expelling and receiving and transit nature, studies must stop to inquire into the political logic of exclusion and integration of displaced persons or migrants, as the case may be. We hope that the works gathered here contribute to the posing of other questions and to strengthen the interdisciplinary dialogue for the understanding of migratory phenomena in all their complexity.
