Publisher's advertisement, lower cover, features ad for "New paper dolls" (including Polly Prim, Gerty Good, and Jenny June), and Dolly Varden dolls. The description of this doll series matches those given in the McLoughlin Catalogue of toy books ... (New York, [1875]). "Aunt Louisa's big picture series. 42 kinds.--25 cents each."-- p. [4] of wrapper. The McLoughlin catalogue for 1875 lists 50 titles. Advertisement also includes a description of the card game Chiromagica. Relief print illustration, first leaf, is signed by engraver Edward P. Cogger. Plates printed in color by a relief process (zinc etching?)."
