The McLoughlin Bros. catalogue of books (1914) lists Mother Goose melodies under inventory number 228. Costume of children in the Illustrations and typography suggest that this edition was probably issued between 1900 and 1913. Cover and illustrations chromolithographed. "Books and games, educate--amuse, McLoughlin est. 1828"--device of McLoughin Bros., front cover, motto appears in a framed circle featuring image of two owls, one reading, one playing checkers. Back cover has chromolithograph of two children in bathing suits at the beach."
