Publishers. 24 Beekman St. N.Y. Apparently first issued ca. 1842 as part of Sarah J. Hale's Little boy's and girl's library. Cf. BAL 6845. McLoughlin Bros. was located at 24 Beekman St., New York, between 1858 and 1862. In printed stiff-paper cover. Cover design printed in red, blue, brown, and green ink. Frontispiece wood engraving features a picture of the interior of a bookstore, with a sign advertising the Little boy's & girl's library, published by McLoughlin Bros. Pagination includes [8] leaves of wood-engraved plates. Hand-colored engravings set in creme-tinted frames. Frontispiece wood engraving signed by Edward P. Cogger.
